Yes! Most people are aware that menopause can be associated with troublesome symptoms but far fewer are aware that the lack of reproductive hormones after the menopause has a potentially adverse effect on almost all aspects of our health. Menopause can impact our risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoporosis, for example. There can also be implications for our mental health and our genitourinary health as well as weight management. Ideally, every person would have an individualised assessment of their health at midlife to guide the best way forward for them.
